Woodworking Froe

from 194.00

A froe is a tool used for the controlled splitting of wood. It's useful when breaking down wood for green-woodworking.

These froes are made from a solid piece of 4140. They come with hardened and tempered edges. At the moment I'm selling these without handles. The eye has a single taper. 1.25'' at the top, 1.75'' at the bottom. This gives you plenty of room to fit a stout handle. The blade is sharpened, but not razor sharp.

The dimensions are as follows:

Overall Length 13-14''
Blade Length 10-11''
Blade Width 2-2.5''
Blade Thickness 3/8''

The price is for a single froe, no handle.

There's one 9'' froe, and seven 10-11'' froes. Select below to see what's in stock.
